BURGLAR (Ireland)
Debut London headline show, on the back of selling out their first Dublin headline last month.
Burglar is an alternative rock band based in Dublin, but their backgrounds couldn’t be more different. Eduardo grew up around the punk rock scene in his hometown of Goiânia, Brazil, while Willow comes from the indie-pop scene in Dublin, with previous project Opal Lights.
Willow’s dissociative lyricism and Eduardo’s confessional style result in energetic and catchy songs with interchangeable vocal leads and omnipresent harmonic work, alongside distorted guitars and buzzing synths, underscored by bassist Cormac's undeniably hooky bass lines.
The band have spent the last two years playing as many gigs on the Dublin circuit as possible and have gained a following within the scene. They have been applauded for their exciting live energy, with onlookers comparing them to influences anywhere from Fugazi, to Slint, to Bloc Party. With two fine singles already released, their debut EP is in the works.
One of the treasures of the London circuit who gig all too infrequently.
"Ewe and Friends, purveyors of top-notch croonery and disco, are preceded by their reputation as a riotously whimsical act with an elusive gig schedule." - Hard Of Hearing
